Hello my darlings! We are down to the last week. Our year has just flown by, it seems to have just zipped on by. I discovered some amazing books and authors this year as well as came across a few snoozers. I had fun in the process and my wish list grew by leaps and bounds. Many new and interesting books to choose from in 2011. So how did you do?
Did you reach the goal of 52 books?:
If you didn't, how many did you manage to read?:
What was the last book you read?:
Did you read from a list and fly by the seat of your pants choosing a different book each week?:
Did you learn something new about yourself, an author, an topic?:
How many classics did you read?:
Did you discover a new author or genre? Did you love them or hate them?

Thank you to everybody who joined in and to those who have been following our progress. No matter how many books you read this year, you succeeded in the challenge. If you discovered something new or a new to you author or just enjoyed your reading time then I would call that a success. There aren't any failures in reading challenges.
I had a lot of fun, hope you did too and next year will be even more of a blast. If there are any topics or books or mini challenges you'd like to see added, please let me know.

Good questions! Only there were hardly any books I didn't like. I'm not picky. :) Question: you gave the blog a new, pretty header--is the button going to change to match?
ReplyDelete@Jean. It will soon, I promise. Still working on things but will have a button this week.
ReplyDeleteHi Robin,
ReplyDeleteI finished all 52 books. I didn't read one I didn't like and I had lots of fun reading and finding them all. Looking forward to next year. Thanks for hosting again. Have a great day!

I had a lot of fun doing this challenge this year and have decided to do this each year in the hopes of eventually reading all the books I own. I actually have read 53 books so far and am currently working on #54, which I will definitely complete before the end of the year. Hope everyone else had a good time with this.
ReplyDeleteHad a blast, thanks for hosting, can't wait to do it again.
ReplyDeleteI exceeded the goal of 52 with 65. The last book I read was Jerzy Kosinski's Being There. I did some reading from a list and some from the seat of my pants. I learned a lot about the early days of NASA from Tom Wolfe, the Moonies from Don DeLillo, and many other things. I read 9 classics this year. I expected to like Dostoyevsky's Notes from the Underground, but didn't. I expected to not like The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but I did.

ReplyDeleteOops, left my name at number 31...but did it on the wrong post! I'm joining you all in 2011, not finishing up 2010. New to the blog world!
ReplyDeleteI am participating!
